These are intimate workgroups comprised of White-Identified Folx who would like to dive into a somatically oriented process of dismantling white supremacy and finding the resolution of somaticize trauma related to systemic racism. The practices and exercises in these workgroups are a combination of invitation to healing racism through the body from Resmaa Menakem, a African Heritage trauma therapist who wrote "My Grandmother's hands" as well as a collection of Somatic Trauma Therapy techniques from my Hakomi Method training. Each intimate group will explore what it means to be a somatic abolitionist and how can we create a anti-racist white culture that supports our well-being and capacity to take accountability for reparations work and changing the existing system. We will work with embodiment techniques and somatic material to engage with along with our practical movements in the world, facing accountability, relationships and attunement, resourcing in the moment and reaching for solidarity.
