The Way of Council:

Engage in the art of relationship
The Way of Council is a practice in a lineage out of the Ojai Foundation, since 1979 there have been practitioners trained in this work and moving with it through businesses, schools, prisons and communities all over the world.
Council as a practice draws on the time honored tradition among many cultures world wide to gather in circle and listen and speak from the heart. To know the landscape of the whole before moving. We can ask, what is the group mind, or group soul? How do we remember the art of touching the truths at the center that bring us together across our differences. Can we learn to pause long enough to listen, to see each other and be witness to the path unfolding before us?
Through this practice we can come to understandings we never thought possible before: finding non-violet resolution to conflict, finding a partnership model beyond hierarchical power structures that have been abused and misused, leaving us distanced and disconnected. Council helps us discover we can share in the responsibility and the initiative that it takes to lead our way through tough times? Council is a potent ally for introducing meaningful change in our schools, prisons, communities, institutions, families and intimate partnerships.
