SomaRoot Center offers an intimate Chico venue for practitioner-led events, workshops, classes, support groups, trainings, circles, and small-group rentals.

The center is best suited for offerings that align with therapeutic support, body-based practice, creative process, education, and respectful use of a shared practitioner space.

Practitioner-Led Offerings
Resident practitioners and community partners may offer classes, workshops, groups, circles, or special sessions connected to their own areas of practice.
These may include bodywork education, meditation, sound healing, community singing, somatic practice, therapeutic learning, creative process, or other formats that fit the center.

Classes, Workshops, and Circles
SomaRoot can support facilitators offering movement, education, healing arts, discussion-based gatherings, creative practice, and other small-group experiences.
The space works best for offerings that benefit from a warm, contained setting rather than a large public venue.

Trainings and Small Events
SomaRoot may be available for practitioner education, doula or care-provider gatherings, wellness workshops, support groups, song circles, writing groups, and other facilitated events.
Because the building is shared by practitioners, each request is reviewed for fit, timing, room use, sound level, and impact on the rest of the space.
Renting the Space
SomaRoot offers rental options for aligned classes, workshops, trainings, circles, groups, and small community gatherings.
Use the rental inquiry form to share what you’re planning. SomaRoot will review the request and confirm whether the space, schedule, and setup are a good fit.
Approved events may be added to the SomaRoot calendar and shared on social media when appropriate files are provided in advance.

Community Workshop Room
The Community Workshop Room may be used for movement, breathwork, song circles, talking circles, education, small workshops, and community-building events.
Approximate capacity:
6–8 people for movement or breathwork
12–20 people for seated activities
Available setup may include a few comfortable chairs, floor cushions, and 5 folding chairs.
Group Therapy Room
The Group Therapy Room may be used for small groups, support circles, discussion-based gatherings, and quieter facilitated offerings.
Approximate capacity:
Up to 6 people
Available setup includes a couch, armchair, and small loveseat.

The main entrance to SomaRoot Center faces 4th Avenue. Parking for community workshops is available in the lot off Esplanade, with additional street parking in front of the building.
The front entrance has a ramp. The building is older, and while the main entrance is accessible, the bathroom is partially accessible and not fully ADA compliant.
SomaRoot Annex is accessed from the rear parking lot and has two steps up to the entrance, along with a smaller bathroom.

Weekday rentals
Weekday rentals are available in 3-hour blocks for the Group Therapy Room or Community Workshop Room.
3-hour block → $50
Weekend Community Workshop Room rentals
1 hour → $30
2 hours → $50
3 hours → $70
Half day, 9 AM–2 PM or 3 PM–8 PM → $100
Full day, 6–8 hours → $150
Full weekend → $300
Full weekend with Friday evening → $375Half of the rental fee is collected before the event.

SomaRoot is a shared center. Events and rentals need to respect the practitioners, clients, neighbors, and participants using the space.
Guidelines may include:
use the space only for the approved purpose
follow agreed timing, capacity, and access instructions
respect room setup and cleanup requirements
avoid disrupting practitioner appointments or other scheduled use
communicate clearly about sound, music, or movement needs
provide accurate information before approval
carry insurance or liability coverage when required
leave the space clean, restored, and ready for the next use
Group events are generally best suited for evenings and weekends, when individual practitioners are less likely to be in session with clients. Events with higher sound needs must be curated around the flow of the multi-use space.

Renters are expected to wash any basic dishes used, dry and wet clean the floor as needed, close windows, return window coverings to their original positions, and restore furniture to its original configuration.

Cancellations must be made at least one week before the event. Cancellations made after that point may be charged 50% of the rental fee.
